Surprising runner-up in Semi-Final 2 was Anabel Conde, who finished only 10th in the Final, while bronze medal Anne-Marie David finished only 8th in the Final. Vânia Fernandes, Danijela and Shiri Maimon couldn't convince completely yet in the Semi-Final, but clearly made a bigger impression in the Final, as there they all reached top 5.

Since only the top 10 went straight to the Grand Final, Euroband and Sergio Dalma, despite coming really close, were left out. However both jury- and televoters etched saved 3 songs and so Euroband, Sergio Dalma, Hari Mata Hari, Jan Johansen, Jill Johnson and Secret Garden all competed again in Semi-Final 3.

Besides the 12 songs that got a second chance after the Semi-Finals, also 8 songs that got a wildcard after failing to qualify from the Quarter Finals, competed in Semi-Final 3 for the 5 remaining tickets to the Grand Final. It's surprising to see that 3 out of the 5 qualifiers were considered not good enough in the Quarter Finals, but through their second chance made it to the Grand Final after all. Sergio Dalma became the surprising winner of Semi-Final 3, taking Amina, Hari Mata Hari, Kati Wolf and Frida Boccara with him to the Grand Final. Switzerland came close to having a song in the Final with 'Io senza te' and like in Semi-Final 2, also this time Euroband came really close, but lost. While ABBA closely missed the top 10 in Semi-Final 1, in the Second Chance Round they finished almost last.

Despite being picked up from a Second Chance Round, Hari Mata Hari managed to finish 11th in the Final, while Sergio Dalma and Kati Wolf reached 13th and 14th place. Frida Boccara ended only 20th, while Amina finished completely last.
